CDs Help Students Find Scholarships, Career Info

CollegeView introduces two new resources designed to help students and adults formulate plans for college and career.

CareerView is a computerized career search resource that matches student and adult interests, abilities, educational level and other criteria to appropriate careers. It can be used either by students or adults.

Its multiple search capabilities include an occupational directory that lets one query occupations by name or alphabetical list, and gives detailed information such as working conditions, salary, training and career outlooks. CareerView users can also review Holland codes ó personality profile types ó to help them discover what type of career might be right for them.

A related product, the Scholarship Edition, matches a studentís individual characteristics such as major, extracurricular activities, location, etc., with potential scholarship awards.

Students can browse a general directory of over 3,000 scholarship sources or conduct a custom search based on criteria from an electronic questionnaire. A feature called FundFacts supplies data on the number and value of awards given, application deadlines, eligibility criteria and contact names and addresses. And, a built-in form letter generator lets students instantly send requests for information. CollegeView, Cincinnati, OH, (800) 927-VIEW, www.collegeview.com
