Cable TV Program Focuses on the Arts

ArtSmart, a special educational program for youngsters, began airing this month on OVATION, a television network devoted exclusively to the arts. This two-hour, commercial-free program airs Tuesdays at noon EST with a repeat on Saturdays at 11 am EST.

In regions where OVATION is not carried by their cable company, educators may request videotaped copies of ArtSmart for use in the classroom. In addition, the copyright-cleared program will be made available for broadcast on local access channels. A related Internet site (www.ovationtv.com) contains study guides, lesson plan ideas and games.

Upcoming episodes include: Concerto, with performances by The London Symphony Orchestra, and Stevensonís Travels, a two-part documentary on Robert Louis Stevensonís life, travel and works.

OVATION brings programming to schools through its partnership with Cable In The Classroom, serving over U.S. 70,000 public and private schools. OVATION, Alexandria, VA, (800) OVATION.
