CNN Student Bureau (CNNSB) and HBO Family have teamed up to offer a half-hour, monthly news and information program for children and families called What Matters. Designed as an issues-oriented news magazine program for kids and reported by kids, What Matters debuted in July exclusively on HBO and will air a new show each month through December.

This Halloween, TNT Learning will present students nationwide a chance to help some of the world's needy children with the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF educator's guide. Designed to provide schools with fund-raising alternatives, the guide contains background information on the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as well as tips and suggestions to help educators integrate the program into their curriculum. Animal Farm, a TNT Original film, brings to life George Orwell's literary masterpiece with the help of state-of-the-art animatronics and digital technology. The ensemble cast includes the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kelsey Grammer, Julia Ormond, Peter Ustinov, Paul Scofield and Patrick Stewart. Made in partnership with Hallmark Entertainment and Jim Henson's Creature Shop, Animal Farm will premiere on TNT in October.

CNN's epic 10-part series, Millennium, strives to look at the most significant people and events of the past 1,000 years. The series premieres on CNN on Oct. 10 at 10-11pm (ET) and will air every Sunday for 10 consecutive weeks. Accompanied by free educator-designed curriculum materials that integrate the series into the classroom, Millennium introduces students to the achievements of cultures worldwide.

The 10th season of Scientific American Frontiers begins on Oct. 5 at 8pm (ET) on PBS with Voyage to the Galapagos, hosted by Emmy Award-winning actor Alan Alda. Other topics to be covered this season include the science of aging, life in the Mediterranean Sea and robots. Educators of students in grades 5-12 are invited to join the series' School Program (a national education initiative fully underwritten by the GTE Corporation), which includes free companion teaching guides and off-air videotaping rights in perpetuity for classroom use.
