The Independent Television Service (ITVS) will present Digital Divide: Technology and Our Future, a two-part series for PBS that explores the impact of computer technology’s rapid spread on young people. Narrated by Queen Latifah, the series poses the question of equality in the Digital Revolution. Is everyone participating equally? Are computers being used to replace, rather than enhance traditional learning skills? Through interviews with students, parents, teachers and technology experts, the series explores how some children are falling behind in computer education while others may be gaining exposure without guidance. The series focuses on the importance of training teachers in the most effective use of new technology. It airs nationally on PBS on January 28, 2000. Check local listings or www.itvs.org for times.
