New Products Enhance Network Performance

ADC’s OMX 600 Optical Distribution Frame is a front-facing, high-density frame that is designed for protecting, managing and enhancing optical networks. It is capable of terminating and splicing up to 576 fibers in a 600mm x 300mm footprint. Fiber cable and connectors are protected through the use of ADC’s patented angled retainers and bend radius protecting design. Its modular design provides flexible configurations for termination, splice and storage applications. With total front access, it can be installed back-to-back or against a wall to save floor space. All ADC fiber management products are also engineered to provide low life cycle costs by adapting easily to network expansion and system upgrades.

Also from ADC, the HDSL2 Repeater allows the deployment of T1 service up to 24,000 feet from a central serving office over a single copper wire, based on carrier serving area (CSA) guidelines. It operates over the full CSA loop lengths and provides line power to a remote unit. The unique repeater design employs highly integrated silicon, which significantly reduces power dissipation while doubling the copper reach. When configured to ADC’s Soneplex HDSL2 central office and remote modules, the system provides a cost-effective solution for service delivery. Additionally, low-power dissipation permits greater deployment densities in an outside plant environment. ADC Telecommunications, Minneapolis, MN, (612) 938-8080, www.adc.com.
