Education Schools Join in Commitment to Technology

Equipping teachers with the skills necessary to prepare their students for technology jobs is a key component of President Clinton's efforts to bridge the Digital Divide. About 20 percent of U.S. colleges of education so far have signed on to a commitment to the President to improve the nation's teacher preparation programs and ensure that every new teacher graduate is fully prepared to use technology effectively in the classroom.

The commitment is an initiative of the CEO Forum on Education & Technology, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, along with Secretary of Education Richard Riley. The full text of the commitment letter can be found on the CEO Forum's Web site. More information from the CEO Forum is available from their Web site.
