Late Breaks - Congressional Web-based Education Commission

The Congressional Web-based Education Commission recently heard remarks from presenters who spoke about the Internet and its potential as a learning tool. Many, such as Kim Jones of Sun Microsystems, encouraged Congress to invest in the infrastructure and content that will make learning on the Web an important part of the education process for students across the country. Jones said that the Internet ensures that, regardless of location, any student can have access to a quality education. Members of the Web-based Education Commission were appointed by the President, the Secretary of Education, and majority and minority leadership of the House and Senate. They include educators, lawmakers and leaders of technology companies. For more information about Sun and its commitment to education, visit www.sun.com/edu.
