SMART Technologies has released SynchronEyes 1.1, a faster version of its computer lab instruction software. Using existing TCP/IP networks, SynchronEyes allows teachers to monitor up to 80 workstations in a single lab. The system puts thumbnail shots of each student's screen on the teacher's computer, and allows the teacher to enlarge any screen and then take control of the student's mouse and keyboard to assist with his work. A show mode allows any software displayed on the instructor's station to be broadcast to each student's monitor.
