Partnerships Support Online Training, Teamwork

As a result of a recent agreement, OnlineLearning.net's graduate-level courses are now available through bigchalk.com. The courses enable educators to earn academic and professional credits online. More than 1,500 courses have been offered so far through OnlineLearning.net, including classes for teacher certification, instructional technology, classroom management, reading strategies, phonics, and certificate programs in character education, online teaching, TESOL and TEFL. All online courses are instructor-led, and mirror traditional classroom formats. Educators can review and register for courses at www.bigchalk.com.

Also available through bigchalk is Generation www.Y, a professional development program in which teachers and students work together to bring technology into the curriculum. The program consists of a semester-long class in which teachers and students partner to create a technologically based lesson plan or develop a project aligned to district or state curriculum standards. Its goal is to help teachers gain the knowledge to use technology in the classroom, and to help students gain technology proficiency and teamwork skills.
