On Guard

Power On Software's flagship security product, On Guard, is a multiplatform desktop security and computer access management tool that enables institutions to have complete control over a network. On Guard provides powerful anti-tampering security that protects valuable computer files and folders from unauthorized access or unwanted changes. It's ideally suited for schools where a computer is accessible by others, and is valuable where a single com-puter may be shared by more than one user.

With On Guard, educators or network administrators can control access to files and folders on a single computer or across an entire network. It prevents users from renaming, moving, copying and trashing files and folders. It limits access to the system and locks control panels and printing. It even directs file saving to other media or specific folders. In addition, nonessential areas may be totally eliminated from access. On Guard also features Netscape download protection.
