The updated version of Theorist Interactive's LiveMath Maker, the interactive program that lets students explore graphing, algebra, calculus and 3-D calculus, comes with several new and improved features. Version 3.5 is now capable of performing limits with proper symbolic notation.

It also comes with several macros for: L'Hopital's Rule; limits by factoring; step-by-step limits by substitution; completing the square; starting the solutions of absolute value equations; and equation solving, including one for Newton's method. Other new features include the ability to graph 2-D inequalities with one or two variables; graphing 2-D and 3-D vector fields; built-in examples and extra help; and new help files in the Starter Library, including new movies.

The new version improves upon features from the previous version, including integration features for both definite and indefinite integrals; root handling, which covers roots other than square roots; and factoring. Theorist Interactive, Cambridge, MA, (617) 868-1774, www.livemath.com.
