Adobe Helps Texas Teachers Develop High-Tech Curricula
Adobe Systems Inc. has been chosen to provide software for the Technology Applications Certification Program (TACP), a K-12 teacher training program dedicated to advancing technology in classrooms throughout Texas. Supporting a statewide mandate, Adobe software products will help advance the technology aptitude of 1,200 Texas educators who are developing high-tech curricula for students. Texas developed the TACP with a $2.2 million grant, giving teachers in low-income communities the software instruction to incorporate technology courses into their curriculum. The program helps ensure that every Texas school district has tech-savvy teachers.
TACP is being facilitated through the Texas Center for Educational Technology (www.tcet.unt.edu) and the University of North Texas. As part of the two-year certification, teachers will learn Adobe Acrobat, GoLive, Photoshop, Illustrator, Page-Maker, Premiere and LiveMotion; furthering their experience at teaching Web, desktop publishing, video, graphics and animation courses.
