Adobe Launches Three Educational Development Initiatives

Adobe Systems Inc. is helping teachers go back to school with three new education initiatives. First, the company has launched Adobe Web Tech Curriculum, a yearlong course that teaches high school students professional Web site design and development using a digital workflow. The free Web-based resource provides real-world career skills and supports IT standards. Students use a variety of Adobe products to prepare Web site documents and designs, create and edit images, and incorporate animations. Adobe has also unveiled its Adobe Digital Kids Club, a program designed to promote the use of digital photography in schools. The program provides educators and students with digital photography resources, advice, training, lesson plans and ideas. Students can also use this digital photography technology to enhance electronic book reports and presentations. Adobe has partnered with Blue Pixel to provide articles, tips and lessons for the program, while Classroom Connect will offer in-person staff development. Finally, the company has introduced its Adobe Master Teachers Program, which promotes the innovative use of Adobe products for educational advances. With plans to expand to 25 teachers this year, the program will be instrumental in developing courseware and instructional resources for educators.
