MPC Computers' NetFRAME 1420 Server

MPC COMPUTERS (www.mpccorp.com) is offering schools its latest server technology at an affordable price. The new NetFRAME 1420 server features hot-swap SATA II hard drives and DDR2 memory in a 1U rack-mountable form factor. The system also features support for dual-core processor technology, which incorporates two processing units into a single processor chip. It includes an Intel Celeron D Processor 331, a 256MB ECC DDR2 SDRAM, and an 80GB SATA II 150 8MB cache hard drive. Four DIMM sockets support up to 8GB of ECC DDR2 memory, and an integrated dual channel SATA controller features RAID 1 support. Also included are a 24x CD-ROM drive, a 1.44MB floppy drive, and LANDesk Server Management software with available IPMI 2.0 Management Module. Price: $1,199
