New York Private School To Control Unmanaged Devices with Mirage NAC

Northwood School, a college preparatory school in Lake Placid, New York, has selected a network access control product from Mirage Networks to secure the unmanaged devices that students use to access its network. Such devices include laptops, PDAs, game consoles, and other IP-enabled endpoints that may not comply with school configuration standards.
"The challenge we face is that students are now bringing a wide range of devices onto the campus network," said Jeffrey Martin, technology coordinator. "We want all students to have network access, but in order to provide that access, we must do it in a secure way. The Mirage solution allows us to accommodate each endpoint on the campus network while still protecting our infrastructure from network threats and out-of-policy endpoint behavior."
Mirage NAC isolates non-compliant and threatening endpoints both inside and outside of the network firewall and provides self-remediation capabilities. Mirage products are sold through a partner program and can also be delivered as a managed service.
The solution is also used by Round Rock Independent School District in Texas.
