Intel Pumps $120 Million into Science Programs
Intel this week announced that it's infusing $120 million into science
programs over the next 10 years through the Society for Science & the
Public (SSP), a non-profit organization that aims to advance public
participation in science research and education. It's the largest
single investment made to date by the Intel Foundation.

Social Learning Platform Enables Education Mashups
Cerego has taken its first step toward opening its iKnow! social
learning platform, a technology from aimed at integrating
collaboration and learning into Web-based content, with the launch of
the iKnow! Developer Portal. It's designed to allow users to create
mashups using iKnow! content and is aimed particularly at "education-
focused social communities."

Aventa Launches Online Middle School Courses
Aventa Learning has launched a new series of online courses for middle
schoolers. The new courses--20 in all--are designed to provide a range
of digital media options to support learning and cover subjects

Lightweight Repository Allows Language Teachers To Share Resources
The University of Southampton School of Electronics and Computer
Science (ECS) is leading a project that will make it possible for
language teachers to share their learning resources easily. The
Language Box is a lightweight repository that acts as a host for
language teachers to deposit their resources and share them with
friends and colleagues in their community.
