Chippewa Valley Schools Automates Outdialing for Notifications

Chippewa Valley Schools in Michigan has upgraded to Objectworld's Unified Communications Server 4.2. The district, which has 15,000 students and a staff of 1,700 across 22 buildings, intends to use the new implementation to automate outdialing, allowing the school district to deliver information to staff and parents quickly.

"We were looking for a unified communications solution that could integrate with our existing digital system from Avaya," said Robyn Oesterle, network system supervisor. "We needed a low cost platform that would add features and make it easier to manage the system over all. We looked at Cisco's Unity product, but Objectworld and Avaya's solution was more cost effective, less time consuming to manage, and a better fit for our existing infrastructure."

Chippewa also sought a unified messaging system that would integrate with Microsoft Exchange. The UC Server Standard Edition adds unified communications capabilities to legacy phone systems, including unified messaging, call control, point-and-click system administration using Microsoft's Active Directory. The solution works with PBX systems from Avaya, Cisco, NEC, Nortel, Mitel, and Siemens.
