Roselle District To Deploy Security Management Portal

Roselle Borough Public Schools in New Jersey will be implementing a safety and security management portal developed by Viyya Technologies and sold by its education division, Virtual Ed Link. The system features integrated video management and alerting with real-time notification. The video management system uses video analytics that allow clients automatically to send an alert through the portal based on pre-determined criteria.

"One of the district's goals for 2009-2010 is to enhance and to continue to professionalize our security services," said Luiggi Campana, school business administrator. "The Viyya Technologies Safety and Security Management portal system will assist the district in maximizing its resources and improve communications with parents."

The surveillance system can detect perimeter intrusion, vehicle movement, objects left behind or removed, camera tampering, and other events. When an activity takes place that requires attention, the analytics server generates an alert that can be sent via the Internet to the Viyya portal, outside the network. The portal software instigates notification via phone, mobile device, and computer to internal staff and external first responders.
