TI Showcases DLP 3D Technology at FETC
Texas Instruments is demonstrating its DLP (Digital Light Processing) 3D technology via a variety of newly unveiled 3D-ready classroom projectors at this week's FETC 2010 in Orlando, FL. 3D projection, the company said, gives students a chance to become more visually immersed and engaged in educational A/V content than was ever likely with traditional projectors.
TI's DLP division previously focused on entertainment and commercial uses for its technology, but the company said it is now working with manufacturers and content providers to offer educational media that bring interactive learning to a new level.
Manufacturers that already offer 3D-ready DLP projectors include BenQ, InFocus, Mitsubishi, Optoma, ViewSonic, and Vivitek. Acer, Dell, NEC, and Sharp ave all indicated they expect their counterpart products to ship in the near future.
