InFocus Rolls Out High-Resolution Classroom Projectors

InFocus has started shipping a pair of high-definition DLP-based projectors designed for classrooms and other medium-sized venues.
The new projectors, The IN5316HD and the IN5318, offer a brightness of 4,000 lumens and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. The IN5316HD has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (1080p), while the IN5318 has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 (WUXGA).
Both projectors support wired LAN connections and include RS-232 control.
Additional features include:
- 1.25x manual zoom;
- Assignable audio inputs;
- An economy mode that increases estimated lamp life from 1,500 hours to 2,000 hours;
- +5 percent/-35 percent vertical lens shift;
- 5 percent horizontal lens shift;
- Horizontal keystone correction of ±20 degrees;
- A throw ratio of 1.54 to 1.94; and
- Two integrated 3-watt speakers.
The projectors measure 4.1" (h) x 15.8" (w) x 12.5" (d) and weigh 10.56 pounds.
AV inputs include HDMI, 5BNC, dual analog RGB/component (mini D-sub 15-pin), component, S-video, composite, and a stereo minijack. AV outputs include analog RGB/component (mini D-sub 15-pin) and a stereo minijack. Networking, control, and peripheral ports include RJ-45 LAN, RS-232, and USB.
A 1.6x zoom lens with a throw ratio of 1.93 to 2.89 and a fixed lens with a throw ratio of 0.77 are available as optional accessories.
The IN5316HD and the IN5318 are currently available and ship covered by a five-year warranty.
