Georgia District To Implement ERP Solution To Streamline Services, Increase Security

Cobb County School District, the second largest school district in Georgia, will implement a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to streamline services and increase data security.

The district recently signed a $2 million agreement with Dallas-based Tyler Technologies to utilize the company's Munis ERP technology.

The agreement between Tyler Technologies and the district covers software licenses, professional services, maintenance, and support for the district's use.

The technology will integrate multiple processes such as information management, finance, accounting, human resource functions such as payroll and training, supply chain management, and others to facilitate the sharing of information across offices and buildings and provide additional data protection by consolidating multiple security systems into a single structure.

Based in Marietta, GA, the Cobb County School District is the 26th largest public school district in the United States with a total of more than 106,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and 14,000 employees.

A provider of information management technology and services, Tyler Technologies currently serves "more than 10,000 local government offices" in North America, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom, according to information provided by the company.
