Chatsworth, CA – 1105 Media Education Group proudly announces the launch of the first all-digital issue of its K-12 education publication, T.H.E. Journal (TJ): view on your desktop/laptop now. The release of this inaugural online issue signifies the magazine’s permanent transition into the electronic publication landscape—making it the first K-12 educational technology periodical to provide its readership with content that is both completely innovative and interactive.

The new T.H.E. Journal boasts rich multimedia features throughout the magazine, including videos embedded within articles, live web feeds, photo slideshows, interactive ads, and social media functionality that allow readers to easily share content with peers and network from their desktop or laptop. A tablet-friendly version along with Apple and Android apps are currently in development and will soon be released.

“We are thrilled to be able to better serve our readers through our new digital magazine,” stated Therese Mageau, editorial director of 1105 Media’s Education Group. “Not only will our content be richer and more interactive, the digital format will enable us to learn how readers actually engage with the magazine, and we can use that data to constantly improve the reading experience.”

Multimedia highlights from the August digital issue of T.H.E. Journal include: the incorporation of a photo slideshow in the cover feature titled, “Liberty and Broadband for All”; a video interview from an education director of a statewide e-learning program; video interview with the CIO of 2012’s Sylvia Charp Award winning school district as well as before-and-after photos from Joplin, MO, this year’s Charp Honorable Mention; plus visual tours of INFOCOMM and ISTE conference exhibit halls showcasing product introductions in “Product Roundup.” More features and columns are also included, supporting the same quality content for which T.H.E. Journal is known.

Readers can expect even more dynamic content in future issues, including: animated covers, video interviews from industry leaders, “editor’s picks” product slideshows, event videos, plus much more.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in existence, T.H.E. Journal has delivered comprehensive educational technology information to thousands of dedicated subscribers. This free publication is widely used by K-12 education decision makers to explore ideas and technology tools for the advancement of schools and districts.
