IT Services Firm Atrion Promotes ForeScout in Security Work

An IT firm that caters to K-12 and institutions of higher education has adopted products from ForeScout Technologies in its security-oriented services. Atrion Networking will be delivering network access, mobile, and endpoint security services leveraging ForeScout's network access control, mobile, and mobile device management (MDM) products.

"Mobile device management and network access control have become fundamental security technologies in this era of borderless perimeters and IT consumerization," said Chris Poe, chief technology officer at Atrion. "By extending our services with superior solutions, such as those offered by ForeScout, we're helping our clients meet their IT objectives and lower their costs with adequate risk management."

ForeScout's network access control appliance, CounterACT, provides a way for IT to enforce computing policies on all devices attempting to connect to a network. ForeScout Mobile is a module for CounterACT that provides additional visibility and control over devices running Apple iOS and Google Android. ForeScout MDM also works with CounterACT but expands on the simpler mobile offering by helping IT handle provisioning, integration, management, security, monitoring, and support of mobile devices that access the network.

Atrion has performed IT work for Eastford Elementary School in Connecticut, Warwick Public Schools in Rhode Island, and Kearsarge Regional School District in New Hampshire.
