Prologic Launches Cloud-Based ERP for K-12 School Districts

Prologic Technology Systems, a provider of educational administration solutions for the K-12 market, has announced its new cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, Teams ERP.

Teams ERP is a business, payroll, and student management system for school districts. It also includes disaster recovery and business continuity services that promise the resumption of financial, human resources, purchasing, inventory, and student information business processes within four hours. Gary Axtman, COO of Prologic, touts the system's abiltiy to help schools get back up and running after a disaster such as a hurricane.

"Teams offers clients an affordable, turnkey solution of hardware, software, and ERP data backups to activate a warm site within a matter of hours should a disaster occur," said Axtman in a prepared statement.

According to Prologic, the Teams ERP system offers "access flexibility, affordability, and little or no upfront capital expenditure" because it's software-as-a-service (SaaS) and therefore doesn't have traditional support and maintenance costs.

The Teams ERP is modular and can streamline processes across modules and departments, such as the substitute management process, according to the company. When a teacher calls in sick, Teams identifies the substitutes with the appropriate skill set to take over the teacher's responsibilities and notifies them. The substitute teachers can accept the posting online. Once the substitute is selected, Teams grants him or her access to the system as needed to fulfill the role of the teacher. Once payment is approved, the Teams payroll module produces a check.

Teams ERP modules include:

  • Human resources modules, such as electronic job postings, employee absence and substitute management, employee certification, payroll, and others;
  • Finance modules, such as nonpersonnel budgeting, vendor management, and fixed asset inventory;
  • Student management modules, such as enrollment, attendance, grading, and portals; and
  • Integrated modules, such as security maintenance, electronic document management, and after school care.

TEAMS ERP is currently being implemented at four Texas school districts: Killeen ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Duncanville ISD, and Lancaster ISD.
