ETS Partners with My Learning Plan To Provide Lesson-Length Classroom Videos

Educational Testing Service (ETS) and My Learning Plan have partnered to launch an online library of K-12 classroom videos for teachers and administrators.

The unedited lesson-length videos are recorded in real classrooms and searchable by grade and subject, as well as setting, which includes rural, suburban and urban.

Shot with HD cameras to show the entire classroom, the videos are also recorded with multidirectional microphones to enable viewers to hear student interactions and discussions.

Features of the ETS Classroom Video Library, which will be available as part of a subscription service, include:

  • The ability to toggle between a wide-angle view and a close up of the front of the classroom;
  • Complementary materials such as lesson plans, student assignments and worksheets, and assessments, where available;
  • A "video clipping" tool that allows users to create their own library of clips, which can be organized by tags; and
  • The ability to share clips among users in the same organization.

"We expect the ETS Classroom Video Library to become a valued resource by schools, school districts, teachers, administrators, institutions of higher education, and professional development providers who are all working on important teacher effectiveness initiatives," said Linda Tyler, ETS vice president of new product development, business innovation, and growth. "User creativity, combined with the video library's versatility, will only expand its usefulness over time."
