Texas District Adopts New ERP To Streamline Business Processes

A Texas school district is implementing a new education-oriented enterprise resource planning application. Scurry-Rosser Independent School District, near Dallas, has signed an agreement with Prologic Technology Systems to use TEAMS, that company's modular ERP system. TEAMS provides modules for management of human resources, finance, and student data as well as regulatory reporting functionality.

The district has about 900 students and three schools covering grades K-12. Previously, it was using TxEIS, a system designed by the Texas Computer Cooperative, a regional education center.

"We were looking to upgrade our software to a streamlined, intuitive, low-maintenance program with integrated services," said Stacey Proctor, the district's chief financial officer. "With the streamlined business processes and productivity gains that TEAMS offers, we can focus our resources on instructional technology to make a bigger impact in the classroom."

TEAMS is offered with the option of an on-premise license or in a cloud-based model. Prologic software is in use by a number of other Texas districts, including Plano, San Elizario, Austin and Arlington.
