California District To Save $7 Million with Energy Upgrades

Nuevo, CA-based Nuview Union School District is launching a sustainability program guaranteed to save more than $7 million in its first 20 years.

The project, designed and built by Chevron Energy Solutions, "includes solar generation capacity at 3 district locations, upgraded HVAC systems and energy-saving LED lighting," according to a news release.

In addition to reducing the amount of electricity the district purchases by approximately 85 percent, the project will provide science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) labs.

Nuview Union School District comprises two elementary schools, one middle school and a charter high school. More information about the district is available at nuview.k12.ca.us.
