SIIA Reveals Winners for Education Software Awards

Schoology, Blackboard, ClassLink and around 30 other education companies recently took home awards in the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) 2014 CODiE awards, honoring education software in categories like Best Classroom Management Solution and Best Project-Centered Learning Solution.

All nominees were first reviewed by a group of tech-savvy educators from across the nation, whose evaluations determined 146 finalists. SIIA members then reviewed these finalists and voted to select the 31 CODiE Award winners. The announcement was made at an awards reception and dinner, held during SIIA’s annual Education Industry Summit earlier this month.

Among the winners were Blackboard for Best Postsecondary Solution, Schoology for Best K-12 Course or Learning Management Solution, Best K-12 Solution, and Best Education Solution. ClassLink took Best Classroom Management Solution and World Wide Workshop won Best Project-Centered Learning Solution for Globoria, a MOOC for teaching young people how to design and code educational games.

Additional information, including a full list of winners, is available online.
