Naturally, they’re replete with illustrations and other digital features.

Accessible via nearly any Web-connected computing device, such as tablets and desktops, the e-books are being made available for free to state residents through Britannica’s E-Stax platform, which residents can log into using their library card details.

"We’re pleased to provide these resources to the State Library of Kansas, which shows the library’s commitment to the education of students, teachers, and families," said Michael Ross, a senior vice president at Encyclopaedia Britannica and general manager of Britannica Digital Learning in a statement.
