Mayfield City Schools Adopts New SIS
Mayfield City Schools (MCS) in
Ohio has implemented a new Web-based student information system (SIS) that
includes messaging, online payment and online registration functionality.
According to John Duplay, technology director for MSC, the district's old
system was outdated and required numerous third-party products to provide
complete functionality. The district wanted a robust, Web-based system that
could provide all of that functionality within a single, integrated system.
Along with a new SIS, the district also wanted help improving its workflow.
"Beyond getting advanced SIS functionality, our biggest need was an audit to
assist in streamlining processes to gain efficiencies," said Duplay in a
prepared statement.
After looking at the various systems on the market, MCS selected the Infinite Campus SIS and hired Campus Process Consulting, an optional service from Infinite Campus, to
conduct a thorough data analysis and improve the district's data entry,
management and reporting processes.
The district implemented three of Infinite Campus' premium products to
complement the SIS, including Messenger with Voice, Online Payments and Online
Registration. According to information on the company's site, Messenger with
Voice lets the district "communicate emergency notifications to staff, students
and parents through email, text and voice messages"; Online Payments lets them
"eliminate cash handling, reduce lost checks and make deposits anytime, anywhere
through the Campus Portal"; and Online Registration is a configurable solution
for student registration.
Campus Process Consulting worked with the district through the presale and
go-live process to help them develop more efficient workflow processes to save
staff time and eliminate redundant data entry, as well as to ensure the Infinite
Campus system met the district's needs.
Mayfield City Schools is located in the Greater Cleveland area and serves
approximately 3,900 K-12 students.
