PresenceLearning, Fuel Ed Partner on Distance Ed for Special Education Students

PresenceLearning and Fuel Education (FuelEd) have partnered to deliver a live, online special education solution designed to provide schools and districts with greater access to service providers for special education students from kindergarten to grade 12.

PresenceLearning offers a nationwide network of speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, mental and behavioral health professionals and special education teachers. This partnership will let schools and districts access PresenceLearning's services through PEAK, FuelEd's personalized learning platform.

Through PEAK, PresenceLearning teachers and therapists can work directly with special education students using Web-based video conferencing to provide evidence-based therapeutic activities, according to information from Fuel Education. PresenceLearning's online special education services are fully aligned with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations and can deliver thousands of sessions per day, according to Fuel Education.

"As diagnoses continue to rise for disorders such as autism and ADHD, there is a growing need for more highly individualized and effective services for these students," said Clay Whitehead, co-CEO for PresenceLearning, in a prepared statement. "By partnering with Fuel Education, PresenceLearning expands schools' access to high quality live services for all children."

Further information about the online special education services can be found on Fuel Education's site.
