ThingLink Debuts VR Content App for Schools

ThingLink has debuted a new virtual reality content app, VR lessons, designed for teachers, parents and students in elementary school.

The new app offers a collection of interactive 360-degree image and video "journeys" on topics related to science, language and the arts.

"The first stories take students to visit different kinds of ecosystems from the French Alps to a jungle in the archipelago of northern Australia," according to a news release. "As students turn their heads to look around, they can spot details and unlock additional information of each habitat in a narrated virtual reality environment."

Lessons currently available were created by the company's content team using ThingLink's VR editor. Eventually, educators will be able to publish their own VR content through the app as well.

"Virtual reality can take students to places they could only dream of visiting, but it is also an open canvas for students to imagine and build new worlds and experiences," said Ulla Engestrom, ThingLink founder and CEO, in a prepared statement. "We are making it possible for schools to use virtual reality as an engaging learning platform."
