BrainPOP Offers Free Trial Version of Voters Ed
BrainPOP, a provider of digital educational content, has partnered with educational gaming company, Second Avenue Learning, to offer a free trial version of Voters Ed. The announcement was made at this week's ISTE 2016 conference and expo taking place in Denver, CO.
Voters
Ed is an interactive online civics education program for students in grades
K-12. Through this partnership, BrainPOP
customers will have access to a free, feature-limited trial version of
Voters Ed with the goal of helping teachers engage students in the
electoral process and upcoming presidential election.
Voters Ed
includes lesson plans and technology integration plans tied to
curricular standards and grade levels. Content includes primers on the
electoral college and presidential primaries; election history,
including results of all past presidential elections and key issues;
poll results, including current national and state polls; and
state-by-state prediction maps. The current 2016 version of Voters Ed
has been updated to include information about this year's election.
The
free trial version of Voters Ed available through BrainPOP includes two
lesson plans: one about election prediction and the other about the
difference between the popular vote and the electoral vote. Both lesson
plans are adaptable for grades 3-12 and are aligned with
numerous Common Core State Standards.
BrainPOP is exhibiting at the ISTE show in booth 2700, and Second Avenue Learning is exhibiting in booth 1311.
Further information about Voters Ed can be found on Second Avenue Learning's site.
