Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Debuts Field Trips for Google Expeditions

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) has launched the first of its HMH Field Trips for Google Expeditions.

Unveiled at this week's ISTE conference and currently available via the Google Expeditions Android app, the four new field trips are aligned to HMH science and social studies curricula. More than 20 field trips are planned for release over the coming months.

"As a Google content partner, HMH has developed field trips that go hand-in-hand with HMH curriculum," according to a news release. "Relevant programs will contain free teacher guides for HMH customers, including student activities and lesson plans, which will enable educators to integrate the virtual field trips seamlessly into their classrooms."

"Google Expeditions allows us to build more immersive learning experiences for our students than ever before," said Mary Cullinane, chief content officer at HMH, in a prepared statement. "We can take them on field trips under water, up mountains and even back in time in ways we could only have dreamed of just a few years ago. Our partnership with Google will bring what students are learning to life in exciting new ways while dedicated teacher support will ensure this technology truly enables learning."
