Future Ready Schools to Host 8 Learning Institutes

Beginning this summer, Future Ready Schools (FRS) will host eight learning institutes that offer personal professional development opportunities for district leaders, IT directors, principals, teachers, instructional coaches, librarians and media specialists planning to implement personalized learning strategies for their students.

The two-day FRS institutes are completely free, thanks to sponsorship by FRS’ partners Follett, McGraw Hill Education, Pearson Education and Summit Learning. They revolve around the FRS framework and participants will learn to use the FRS interactive planning dashboard tool, a free online tool used by about 900 school districts, as well as the FRS five-step planning process to ensure a successful digital conversation. Afterwards, each institute will launch a regional network to provide ongoing support and host follow-up activities “to ensure districts have the resources needed to create customized, actionable personalized learning plans,” according to information from FRS.

Dates and locations for the institutes are as follows:

  • July 13–14: Denver, CO
  • July 20–21: Albany, NY
  • August 3–4: Palm Springs, CA
  • September 25–26: Indianapolis, IN
  • October 11–12: Philadelphia, PA
  • October 26–27: New Orleans, LA
  • November 14–15: Sacramento, CA
  • November 29–30: Detroit, MI

FRS leads a national effort to maximize digital learning opportunities and help school districts plan and implement personalized, research-based digital learning strategies. Since 2015, approximately 3,100 superintendents representing more than 19.2 million students have signed the Future Ready District Pledge, committing to implement and use personalized learning using effective digital learning strategies.
