Nintendo is releasing its fourth do-it-yourself cardboard kit this week. Nintendo Labo VR KIT provides an introduction to virtual reality. Labo is the gaming company's cardboard accessory line, released last year for the Switch. The Labo kits include two parts: a game and sheets of cardboard cut-outs that are assembled into various components, along with assorted stickers, washers and rubber bands.

The latest kit allows for creation of virtual reality goggles, as well as a camera, a space blaster, an elephant, a bird and a wind pedal. The goggles attach to the other items to work together in providing 3D stereoscopic experiences, such as taking pictures of underwater creatures or seeing the world from a bird's perspective.

The software runs on the Switch, which is slid into the goggles and includes 60 games as well a new programming tool that allows the user to produce "bite-sized" VR games and experiences from scratch or by using the existing games as a jumping off point.

Previous sets have included a vehicle kit, robot kit and variety set.

The kits retail for between $59.99 and $79.99 and are available at major online retail outlets.
