Banyan Software Acquires School Data Analytics Provider DataDesign Solutions

Banyan Software said this week it has added another enterprise software business to its family, acquiring DataDesign Solutions, whose education intelligence solutions help K–12 schools analyze student and back-office data.
Founded in 2018 and based in Monterey, Calif., DataDesign is a provider of student-centered data solutions that integrate with key curriculum and instructional platforms to give administrators, principals, students, and parents with a “more collaborative and informative education experience through increased data gathering and analysis,” Banyan Software said in a news release.
“DataDesign's co-founders have deep education software expertise and are passionate about developing world-class solutions tailored to the unique needs of their customers,” said Banyan Software CEO David Berkal. “We are excited to welcome DataDesign into the Banyan family of companies and look forward to supporting the company's future growth.”
DataDesign’s product offerings include KPI and analytics dashboards for school administrators and principals, student-tracking tools geared towards teachers, and a mobile app to help students with calendar, communications, and course management.
Banyan Software, listed on Inc. 5000 America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies, is known for its buy-and-hold-for-life strategy for growing enterprise software companies serving niche markets. The company, which has offices in Atlanta, Toronto, and Wales, previously bought School Pathways, which makes a student information system for K–12 independent study and charter schools. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
