YouScience Unveils New Education-to-Career Solution for Schools: Brightpath

AI plus Jobs and Labor Data, Higher Education Options Combine to Enable Individualized Learning Paths and Real-World Connections

Career training and aptitude assessment provider YouScience has launched a new education-to-career platform for K–12 students called Brightpath that helps students identify their natural aptitudes and skills, identify the learning path and school coursework best aligned to their aptitudes and future career opportunities, connect with post-secondary programs matching their aptitudes and interests, find internships and jobs matching their aptitudes, and even earn CTE certifications.

BrightPath’s user experience is reminiscent of popular internet “personality quizzes” and the like — but the data it’s built on and its resulting recommendations are far more sophisticated. The assessments, recommendations, educator insights, and post-graduation options included in Brightpath are based on scientific research on aptitude assessments, on growth projections in various industries and sectors, on current job openings, and on projected job openings and in-demand fields.

The platform uses artificial intelligence combined with millions of data points to help students identify what they’re naturally good at, validate what they have studied through certifications, and/or match their skills and interests with educational and career pathways, YouScience said. Brightpath builds on the company’s aptitude and career ‘Discovery’ solution with education and career planning features for educators, parents, and students, as well as insights to allow educators and administrators to monitor the success of individual students and their school’s CTE program as a whole.

“YouScience Brightpath is designed to enable education-to-career convergence for the benefit of all students,” the company said in a news release. “It provides educators and administrators with the flexibility and tools needed to engage and re-engage students.”

YouScience provided THE Journal with a demo of the new solution, available now on YouTube or embedded below.

Brightpath aims to enable the following outcomes, YouScience said:

  • Students can view a range of educational opportunities to pursue along with college and university majors that align with their aptitudes. The selection of schools with matching programs shown to any given student may include vocational, trade, or technical schools, as well as colleges and universities.

  • Students can explore different career opportunities that align with their aptitudes and can determine the best classes or industry certifications to pursue.

  • Students can validate their learning by earning industry-recognized certifications in more than 200 areas of study.

  • Students have access within Brightpath to local, regional, and national employers that offer internships, apprenticeships, or jobs aligning with their aptitudes.

Education leaders can use Brightpath to achieve critical K–12 initiatives, YouScience said, including:

  • Improving diversity, equity, and inclusion outcomes

  • Improving graduation rates among all students

  • Increasing student engagement

  • Providing personalized guidance for each student

  • Showcasing career and technical education programs to the entire population of students

  • Quantifying outcomes through industry-recognized certifications

  • Demonstrating learning relevance through a closer alignment of education and industry

  • Helping more students enroll and stay active in personalized post-secondary education

YouScience Brightpath is available now for implementation for the 2023–2024 school year. Learn more at YouScience.com/Brightpath.
