Avantis Partners with EdGate to Align Eduverse VR Lessons with State Standards

Through a new partnership with EdGateAvantis Education is working to align its 400-plus virtual reality lessons for K–12 classrooms to meet state standards in science, social studies, and English Language Arts, in time for Fall 2023 semester, according to a news release.

Avantis is at ISTELive 23 this week in Philadelphia, sharing more information about the standards-alignment process and demonstrating its AR/VR technology such as ClassVR headsets.

Avantis Education’s VR lessons are housed in the so-called Eduverse, the company’s platform built specifically for incorporating virtual reality into K–12 education. The Eduverse serves as the content hub for schools using ClassVR headsets, but it is accessible on any device for use in classroom instruction, the company said.

All of Avantis Education’s lessons will be aligned to state standards by Fall 2023, and will be accessible to anyone using ClassVR headsets and anyone with an active subscription to the Eduverse platform, Avantis said. Subscription levels include a free option.

“If I’m a third-grade teacher in Louisiana and I am looking to supplement a lesson on ecosystems, I will be able to log into my Eduverse account, and with a few clicks find a list of virtual lessons that align with the state standards for that topic,” said Avantis Education’s CEO, Nik Tuson.
