LG Unveils new ChromeOS Slot-In PC for Createboard

Two New Initiatives for Tech-Savvy Educators Also Announced

LG Business Solutions USA this week unveiled a new Google-certified ChromeOS slot-in PC for LG Createboard, during ISTELive 23 in Philadelphia, simplifying daily use and adding flexibility and features to classrooms using the Createboard, the company said in a news release.

LG also introduced to new initiatives, LG Educators and the Education Advisory Board, that will aim “to design and promote best practices based on real-world successes and solicit industry input to help guide future product development,” according to the announcement.

The new Google-certified ChromeOS slot-in PC (model OPS-C001) for LG Createboard enables teachers to use the entire ChromeOS operating system on new and existing LG Createboards, offering a user experience similar to a Chrome tablet or Chromebook. It is available now, LG said.

Adding ChromeOS to an LG Createboard “turns the display into a single sign-on device, allowing teachers or students to log in to their Google account on the Createboard and connect to their classroom’s instructional and LMS services such as Google Classroom, Meet, or others within the Google ecosystem, without additional logins.

This includes access to the full Chrome PC browser interface, LG said, including extensions, Google Assistant, Google Management Console, and Bard AI tools.

The LG Educators initiative is seeking education professionals “with experience using LG products to leverage the brand’s name recognition and media reach to promote their best practices and share their success stories with the wider education community,” LG said. The company said it wants to recruit “an army of tech-savvy educators who can show others how to get the most out of modern tools.”

The LG Education Advisory Board is a separate program that “combines the expertise of school leaders including superintendents and chief information officers to advise LG on future product development and classroom needs,” the company said.

Educators and education leaders interested in participating in either program can learn more and apply at the LG website
