Epson Unveils First Extreme Short Throw Display with 4K Enhancement

Epson has introduced the PowerLite 810E, its first 3LCD extreme short-throw lamp-free laser display with 4K enhancement technology. The display features 5,000 lumens of color and white brightness for sharp, glare-free viewing. It can also create an 80-inch to 160-inch image from a short distance.

“This projector is designed to break boundaries of what is possible from a single display device under 30 pounds,” said Remi Del Mar, senior product manager for Epson America, noting that this device takes projection “beyond the limits of flat panels.”

Features include:

• An up to 30,000-hour laser diode, with an “ultra efficient” cooling system;

• A 0.16 throw ratio for an 80-inch image as close as 1 inch from the wall and a 160-inch image only 14 inches from the wall;

• A built-in split screen and free Epson iProjection app for simultaneous multi-device casting;

• Support for 21:9 and 16:6 ratio displays, in addition to the standard 16:9;

• Multiple connectivity options, such as HDBaseT, HDMI, USB, and RS-232;

• Dual speakers and wired/wireless networking with Miracast support;

• Easy mobility or wall-mount room installation;

• Advanced pixel-shifting technology with frame interpolation, HDR and scene adaptive gamma image processing;

• Easy image alignment with digital zoom and image shifting and edge and corner smoothing with the new Setting Assist app;

• Projector management software controlled from a central dashboard, or control and notifications from any web browser; and

• A three-year limited warranty and next-business day exchange.

The PowerLite 810E is available now in a white chassis. A black chassis will be available in September 2023, Epson said. MSRP is $3,299, but school pricing is available through Epson’s Brighter Futures program, which includes dedicated education account managers and toll-free technical support for all Epson projectors and associated accessories.
