SchoolStatus Acquiring ClassTag, Will Integrate Its Mobile App, Newsletter, and Automation Tech

K–12 data and communications software provider SchoolStatus has acquired ClassTag, a unified family communication and engagement platform for educators, schools, and districts, according to a news release.

The acquisition expands SchoolStatus' lineup with ClassTag’s communications platform, which enables sharing of essential student-level data in streamlined and easy-to-use ways, SchoolStatus said. ClassTag's smart message feature allows families to choose SMS, email, app, web or paper for receiving school communications, and the platform automatically translates into over 100 languages, according to ClassTag’s website.

SchoolStatus is acquiring New York-based ClassTag “in its entirety, including its operations and technology,” according to the announcement.

Users of ClassTag basic free plan “will continue to have access to the same products and services they currently use,” SchoolStatus said. ClassTag technology will be integrated with SchoolStatus' data and school-home communications platform.

SchoolStatus users will soon have an additional communications option as ClassTag's mobile app is integrated with the SchoolStatus platform, the company said. Other new features coming to SchoolStatus users will include ClassTag’s Smore's newsletter capabilities and Operoo's digital forms and workflow automation.
