Registration Opens for CISA's 2023 Summit on K-12 School Safety and Security Set for Nov. 1-2

Details for CISA's 2023 National Summit on K-12 School Safety and SecurityRegistration is now open for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s virtual National Summit on K–12 School Safety and Security on Nov. 1–2, 2023, designed for K–12 education leaders and safety stakeholders from local, state, and federal levels, the agency said in a news release.

The event is expected to convene school safety experts, security practitioners, and education leaders “to discuss current threats in school safety and explore research-informed strategies for addressing security challenges and risks” in schools, CISA said.

“It is intended to both foster a nationwide dialogue on the most critical school safety issues, as well as equip school stakeholders and personnel with resources, training, and expertise to apply in their local school settings and communities,” according to CISA’s website.

The event is free to attend and will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, and one-on-one interviews with government, private sector, and school safety leaders.

Sessions will feature the latest research, resources, programs, and guidance on the following topics:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Online Safety
  • Positive School Climate
  • Recovery from Emergency Events
  • School Safety Planning and Resourcing
  • Student Mental Health
  • Violence Prevention and Early Intervention
  • Whole Student Support

CISA said the summit will be particularly relevant to K–12 school and district administrators; principals and superintendents; school-based law enforcement; teachers and school staff; mental health practitioners; first responders; federal, state, and local government partners; and other school safety and security professionals.
