SchoolStatus Releases Unified Communication and School Attendance Platform

SchoolStatus has announced a new K–12 platform to improve communications between schools and families to help ensure student attendance. The platform features two data-driven solutions: SchoolStatus Connect and SchoolStatus Attend.

The company said the platform makes it easier for school districts to reach every family to help support student learning and attendance. Educators can also easily access data insights, such as students' academic performance, contact history, and recorded phone calls to track their progress and make decisions about interventions to reduce chronic absenteeism.

The two solutions offer several features, as outlined on the company's website.

SchoolStatus Connect's goal is to enhance engagement and reach more families using these features:

  • Two-way communication (SMS messaging, e-mails, calls);
  • Centralized classroom app and web portal;
  • Communication logging and recording;
  • Mass notifications;
  • Newsletters;
  • Auto-translation;
  • Family engagement reporting;
  • Classroom events and appointments;
  • Volunteer requests;
  • Virtual backpack; and
  • SIS data integration and reporting.

"The combination of data and communication is a powerful catalyst for driving family engagement and, importantly, freeing up valuable time for educators," said Russ Davis, SchoolStatus founder and CEO. "We know that educators and families want better, easier ways to connect and engage with each other as they partner to help students get back on track academically and work to address absenteeism."
