"Video CD-ROMs" Can Be Previewed for Free

Bergwall Productions has joined forces with IBM to release the first full-color, full-screen, full-motion instructional "video CD-ROMs," containing up to 70 minutes of VHS-quality video. Viewers watch a succinct presentation that covers a specific portion of the curriculum, then take a multiple-choice test that measures their understanding-all in a penalty-free environment. Scores and times are automatically recorded in the program's Teacher's Grade Book. Students can move forward or backward in the program and access information instantaneously, or pause indefinitely at a certain point. Seven video CD-ROM titles are currently available: Fiber Optics Explained; Entering the World of Work; Finding Your Way in the Working World; Auto Emissions Explained; Reading a Ruler; Basic Elementary Frog Dissection and Hydraulics. Educators can preview any program for free for 15 days. Bergwall Productions, Chadds Ford, PA, (800) 645-3565. D
