Based upon 15 years of case studies, research and development, Foundations in Reading helps early learners improve phonemic awareness, sound/symbol relationships, literacy experiences, language acquisition, word recognition, alphabetic principle and vocabulary.

Colorful graphics and audio are combined in 24 stories and over 4,100 interactive lessons, incorporating more than 2,000 vocabulary words. Included in the package are printed books, writing journals and a wide range of supplementary materials.

The software's learning model encourages children to discover the functions and structures of language and their relation to written text. According to the firm, after using the product for 15-20 minutes per day for four weeks, students scored much higher on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) Vocabulary section.
