Intranet Toolset Exploits Javascript

Educators can download a pre-release version of Borland's core IntraBuilder product, a complete toolset for building and maintaining live data-driven Intranet applications. The free evaluation copy is available at http://www.borland.com/intrabuilder/. The final product will be sold in three different configurations. Designed for small workgroups, IntraBuilder includes Netscape Navigator Gold along with Borland's Personal Web Server and local data access to Access, FoxPro, dBASE and Paradox data. For higher-volume Intranets, IntraBuilder Professional ships with Netscape FastTrack Web server, with support for remote data access to Microsoft SQL Server and Borland InterBase Windows NT database servers. Finally, IntraBuilder Client/Server adds native drivers for many other databases and the ability to build multi-tier applications. IntraBuilder combines Borland's rich database tools with JavaScript, a cross-platform scripting language. Users can create Web-based data-entry forms or dynamic reports without learning any programming languages. Borland International, Scotts Valley, CA, (408) 431-1064, www.borland.com.
