Student Info. System Will Suit Higher Ed.

Software AG has partnered with the University of Cincinnati to design and develop a student information system (SIS) for post-secondary institutions. Most interesting is the deliberate choice of a template-based approach to allow colleges and universities to implement a proven, yet customized solution at a fraction of the cost of in-house development.

The SIS integrates a variety of key student-related services including admissions, curriculum, registration and student billing. For example, it supports recruitment efforts by automatically tracking prospect contacts and correspondence.

Students can access information on their accounts, grades and courses via the Internet, reducing time spent waiting in line or on the phone for staff to answer questions.

Programmers can modify the SIS at the design level, without having to change code. Pricing will be based on FTE size of the university and the modules desired. Software AG, Reston, VA, (800) 843-9534, www.sagus.com.
