MM Academy Spreads Its Reach

Already field-tested in Utah, the unique Academy of Multimedia is launching in selected school districts nationwide. In the Academy, students are first trained to be multimedia authors and then they create courseware and other materials for their instructors.

Students learn to employ Allen Communicationsí Quest Multimedia Authoring System, their Designerís Edge coursware authoring tool, and their Managerís Edge tool. The two-year curriculum suits high school grades and above.

The Academy package includes teacher manuals, student workbooks and classroom licenses for the three software programs. Other elements are an online newsletter, an Internet library of shared lessons and courses, an Internet forum for Academy members, teacher training and technical support.

Academy students gain valuable skills for possible careers or specialized university programs. Allen Communication, Inc., Salt Lake City, UT, (800) 325-7850, www.allencomm.com/academy
