Consortium Links Media 100 Users

The Media 100 Education Consortium provides schools and colleges with purchase discounts, technical support and a communications network to encourage use of the Media 100 image processor in classrooms. With the system, students can create broadcast-quality video programs by dragging and dropping media files from applications such as Adobe Premiere and Macromedia Director.

Products purchased through the consortium will be fully supported locally by a group of specially trained value-added resellers. Customers also receive prompt telephone technical support and software upgrades. In addition, they can exchange information online via the Media 100 Education Consortium Network.

Hundreds of K-12 and higher education institutions have introduced Media 100 as a learning tool in social studies, science, history, medicine and language courses. Last summer, for example, Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky., sent 170 students to cover the Olympic Games as part of a broadcast training program.
